Tips and Techniques:
Big, chunky photo corners are very trendy in scrapbooking right now. So often, these photos corners add that one finishing touch to complete the page. But what if you can’t find just the right ones to match your papers and your embellishments? Make your own! It’s really very simple.
For my layout, “You make me Smile” I made the oversized photo corners from one of the coordinating patterned papers in the Studio Basics 101 Lush Collection (Lush Travel). Stripes will always do in a pinch.
First, trim a strip of patterned paper the width you would like your photo corner. Cut this strip in half. Next, cut one of the strips to the desired length. Take the second strip and overlap it with the first, with one strip being horizontal and the other being vertical. Make a light pencil mark where the two strips meet at the bottom corner. Cut diagonally, overlap the strips again and adhere the top strip to the bottom, making sure to match the pattern. Cut the second strip to the desired length. Finally, notch the outside edges. There you have it. You’re done.
These photo corners can be made to whatever size or pattern you like, and you’re guaranteed a perfect match. |
