Technique and Tips:
As scrappers, there are always certain techniques that you love to use and that you tend to use on a regular basis. In the end, they help you to create a style that is all your own. In my case, I love the look of texture and added dimension on my layouts. One of my favorite techniques is to sew on my layouts. Even in small amounts, it can add such character to a project. For this layout, I used a zigzag stitch around the entire focal point of my layout which is the center white circle. Because of the abundance of color in the layout, I wanted to keep any additional embellishment to a minimum. The added look of the zigzag stitch added just enough and kept it simple
Instructions for hanging Transparency Layout:
1. Use Sami square paper (#17636) as background for layout.
2. Cut white cardstock in a circle approximately 9” for center of layout. Put down for placement but do not adhere.
3. Cut 6 paisley shapes from paisley dot paper (#17635) (3 yellow and 3 pink). Place in three corners of the circle and adhere. Now you can adhere the white circle to the center of the layout.
4. Using pink thread, sew around edges of white circle with zigzag stitch.
5. Adhere photo in center of the circle. Photo is approximately 7”x7” before cutting into circle.
6. Using Sam square paper (#17636) cut 2 strips of blue paper in arc shape to go around top and bottom of circle.
7. Using Sami stripe paper (#17637) cut out 17 little squares to place around circle. Put squares on foam tape to add dimension and add jewels to center.
8. Put all elements around circle and then adhere.
9. Add chipboard sentiment and journaling.
10. Cut 2 strips of paper .75” x 12” from Paisley dot paper (#17635) and adhere to top and bottom of layout. |
