Instructions
1. Fold Castle Book so that the entire front of the book is showing. Using a pencil, mark those pages that will be shown when the book is folded.
2. Trace around the front of the castle book onto the Narratives Oceanside paper. Cut this out and adhere to the front of the book. Trim the edge from the Sand Dollar paper that says “down by the ocean, down by the sea.” Adhere this strip to the bottom of the front of the book. Trim the bottom with a very thin strip of medium tan cardstock. Add a strip of light tan cardstock to each of the towers on the front of the book and then trim with a very thin strip of medium tan cardstock. Add photo. Place a piece of tan Magic Mesh on each side of the photo. Cut the green raffia to resemble beach grass and layer on top of the Magic Mesh. Add two sea shell stickers to the right hand side of the book, covering the raffia and magic Mesh. Add one of the Narrative circle stickers to the center top of the book and secure with a large silver brad. I cut the prongs off of the brads and use glue to attach them to the book
3. For the 2nd page that shows from the front of the book, cover the entire page with light tan colored cardstock. Cover the two pointed towers with scraps of the Narratives Sand Dollar paper. Add a large strip of medium tan cardstock to the large center tower and trim with strips of the medium brown cardstock. For this page, you can add either photos or journaling, taking care that whatever you add does not show to the front of the book. I selected a journaling block with two small Narratives cardstock stickers.
4. For the third page that shows from the front of the book, cover the main portion of the page with medium tan cardstock and trim all four edges with thin strips of medium brown cardstock. The towers are decorated using light tan cardstock for the base of the towers and medium tan cardstock for the upper portion. Trim with thin strips of medium brown cardstock. Add two circle cardstock stickers, one to each tower and glue a large silver brad on each tower. Add a photo, mounted on medium brown cardstock. Layer another piece of Magic Mesh, Raffia and a cardstock sticker to embellish this page. You may also want to add tan colored photo corners.
5. For the final remaining page that shows from the front of the book, cover the main portion of the page with the Oceanside paper. Add a photo mounted onto medium brown cardstock. Add a thin strip of medium tan cardstock to the bottom of the page. Layer a piece of Magic Mesh, raffia and two sea shell stickers to the lower left hand corner of the photo. I also added the tan photo corners to this page. Trim the two pointed towers with light tan cardstock, trimmed with a thin strip of Medium brown cardstock. The large tower is covered with light tan cardstock, trimmed with two thin strips of medium tan cardstock. Add a cardstock sticker to the center of the tower and adhere a small silver brad. The pointed portion of the center tower is covered with Oceanside paper.
6. The remaining pages that are not shown from the front can be trimmed in a similar fashion, adding brads, cardstock stickers, magic mesh and raffia. |
